Tracey Hall, Ph.D., Senior Research Scientist - Dr. Hall focuses on assessment in technology-based instructional applications, and is the Director of Curriculum for CAST's OSEP-funded National Center on Accessing the General Curriculum. Her work over the past 18 years has focused on curriculum-based measurement, teacher development, and curricula and instruction for special needs students. She is currently co-PI for the OSEP-funded Thinking Writer for Science: A Technology-Based Instructional Approach for Writing to Support Students with Disabilities, which includes supports for progress monitoring to inform instruction. She is also a Regional Trainer for the National Center on Student Progress Monitoring. She has conducted research on CBM at the University of Oregon, Pennsylvania State University, and for the Ministry of Education in Trinidad as well as CAST, served on a Model Demonstration grant (OSERS) focusing on CBM, and developed norms using CBM as a consultant to schools. Before joining CAST, Dr. Hall was an assistant professor at Penn State University in the Department of Educational and School Psychology and Special Education. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in Special Education, with research emphases on alternative assessment and instructional design. Dr. Hall has published articles in refereed journals, including "Universal design for learning: Implications for large-scale assessment," in IDA Perspectives.
