Pamela Mims currently the Project Manager and Research Associate for NAAC at UNC Charlotte. She also is a third year doctoral student in special education at UNC Charlotte with a focus on students with significant cognitive disabilities. Her research interests include access to the general curriculum with a specific interest in literacy instruction for students with significant cognitive disabilities. Other areas of focus include access to the general curriculum and alternate assessments for students with significant cognitive disabilities, students with significant multiple disabilities including deaf/blind, and systematic instruction strategies. Prior to working for NAAC and entering the doctoral program, she taught middle school students with significant multiple disabilities for seven years.
